lots of tentsWe have all forgotten to pack something for vacation. Most of the time, you can just swing by the closest convenience store and pick that missing item up. While camping, however, it is not always easy to replace a missing item. Often, the locations where you go camping are isolated and there are no stores nearby where you can purchase forgotten camping supplies.

Use A Checklist

It is important to make a checklist to help you to remember important items for your camping trip. If this is your first time camping or you need a refresher on camping essentials, you will find the following YouTube video useful:

7 Camping Essentials to Pack

There are so many things to remember when you are camping. It’s easy to overlook the little things that may prove useful, especially if the unexpected happens. The following list includes items you may forget, but shouldn’t leave home without.

Trash Bags

It is easy to forget this essential item because it is not something you actively use. Having a trash bag, and even a bear-proof container, for your waste is a necessity. You want to leave nothing behind in order to preserve the area for future visitors.

First Aid Kit

You never know when a bandage, burn cream, or antiseptic may prove useful when camping. A first aid kit is essential to be prepared for any injuries that may occur while you are on your trip.

Duct Tape

Duct tape is great for repairs to tarps, tents, and sleeping bags when you are in a pinch. You never know when it is going to help you out, so it is always good to have some for minor repairs or holding things together to make it through the trip.

Batteries

The last thing you want is for your flashlight to go dead. The same goes for your GPS, if it even works where you are camping. Take extra batteries for your electronics or a backup charger just in case your batteries fail.

Wet Wipes

There may not be anywhere to wash your hands while camping, so Wet Wipes are great to have with you to clean your hands or any other part of you that gets dirty. They are great to have in order to stay clean and sanitary while enjoying the outdoors.

A Hatchet

A Whistle

You never know if you will get lost or may find the need to communicate with your fellow campers. A whistle takes very little energy and is very loud, making it easy to find one another quickly and easier to be be found, if you need rescuing.
